Stardew Valley's "obscure secret(s)"

This thread is intended to be a successor to this thread. Obviously, this one's probably gonna have a lot of spoilers.

In an interview soon after Stardew Valley's release in February 2016, ConcernedApe (the developer of Stardew) stated that there was a weird and obscure secret that nobody had yet found.

Here is the part of the interview where the secret was discussed:

PCG: Finally, are there any secrets in the game that you haven't seen anyone find yet?
EB: Yes.
PCG: Yes?
EB: Yes.
PCG: And you're not going to tell me what that is, probably?
EB: No, I won’t tell you. [Laughs] I haven't told anyone.
PCG: Is it significant?
EB: It's not super significant, but it's kind of just so weird and obscure that I don't know if anyone will ever do it.

We don't know for certain what secret CA was referring to in that interview, even after nearly an entire year of searching. However, there are quite a few secrets the community has discovered, and there are sure to be more to find. The goal of this thread is to provide a place for secret hunters to coordinate their search.

At the moment, it appears there are no more unfound secrets in Stardew Valley. DIG NameleSS1 asked ConcernedApe on Twitter, and that's basically the response he got. I'll update this with a link to that tweet when I can get it.

what about corn/wheat? also, i found some weird monsters in the files, such as shadow_girl and wilderness_golem

Pretty sure the wilderness_golem is the one that spawns on your farm when you have
completed the quest with the dark talisman and activated the altar in the witch house Still, i dont have 10 in combat rn on that char so the shadow_girl could be there

shadow girl is un implemented but in the data wilderness golom is on the wilderness farm

I've been watching and creating a new character or go edit it in the wizard by clicking the given number of times the sound of Junimo will come out of them, it would be something to be observed ? (I'm using google translator)

hmm... that might be a lead. but probably just a small easter egg like in Terraria if your around ducks long enough you will hear a human making a quacking sound.

These are personal theories, I have no proof for these, I just wanted to share:

-We know that Joba is the god of this world, but we have only little information about him/her. What if he/she was in reality one of the villagers? I think of Linus. He's so strange, but never complains about anything. He seems to love nature and all and we don't really know where he comes from. There's something about him I swear.

-The lonely stone is strange as well. What if, if we come there at a specific time, we encounter something or someone? A mermaid for example, or we get the story of the ol' mariner? Maybe there's something planned in a future update but I doubt everything would be included in the game BUT the event itself.

What do you think?

Linus is an old friend of the Wizard, but I really don't think Linus is Yoba. For one thing, he dislikes clay and stone, which, considering Yoba made the world out of that kind of material, doesn't make sense.

And the lonely stone is pretty suspect, but there's no evidence that the stone on the beach is actually the lonely stone.

Yoba is a carryover from CA's alder projects as well- the depiction of Yoba in Wumbus World was a large stylized sun with a detailed face. ( http://www.wumbusworld.com/index.php?strip=5 ) He's also occasionally seen with legs, and has a counterpart deity known as Josa, who is the moon.

With no visual representation of Yoba in the games' canon, there's no telling whether Yoba keeps that form- though the opening logo for ConcernedApe does look exactly the same as it's previous incarnation. ( http://www.wumbusworld.com/index.php?strip=47 )

Since Joja Cola also exists within that comic, it's safe to think "Hm, I wonder what's up with that?" from time to time- after all, a small, abandoned webcomic is certainly rather obscure, no?

Either way, it's nice to see that ideas from CAs' past managed to contribute to such a cool game like this.

According the game lore, the world was made from a plant of sorts that grows on a vine after 11 days. There's speculation that it could be either a Tomato or a Melon, but in either case, Linus only "Likes" both. I think that either way it's probably safe to say that Linus isn't Yoba.
