My foraging skill is stuck at level 9
I am trying to get my foraging skill to level 10 but it's been 2 weeks since then and it is still at level 9 even though i cut so many trees everyday ( i have like 1500 woods in my chest) of course i also take some forage items throughout the map if i found one..

so i am wondering why does my foraging skill stuck at lv 9?? i got fishing and farming skill to level 10 already.. do i need to upgrade my axe to the last one (gold) ?? because i still have the iron axe

Nah, you just need to pick up more junk from the floor. I think picking up stuff gives more exp.

It takes quite a lot of effort to max foraging compared to the other skills.

Getting to level 9 foraging is a total of 10,000 exp, but to jump from level 9 to level 10 is a total of 15,000 exp.

That one took a long time for me too. I relied mostly on actual foraging, not logging.

^^ Agreed with everyone else. I maxed EVERY other skill before Foraging would go to 10 for me. And that's with picking all the berries, clearing the tall trees regularly, and grabbing all the crystals in the mines.

BY all means, upgrade your axe -- you're working yourself too hard! (Though upgrade has nothinng to do with the xp :-)
oh lol i thought it was stuck, glad to hear that skill just took longer than usual to level up... thanks for clearing my doubt!

Nah your save is bugged, clearly you can't get to level 10. You'll have to restart from the beginning.

Now, I have this same problem. I understand its difficult but, i've cut ALOT of trees, I mean about 20,000 pieces of wood since I got to level 9. how much experience comes from wood because this is taking FOREVER.

The best way to level foraging is going to the mushroom floors on the mines, you don't need to sell them if you're not into game exploits, just use the cave for gaining exp.

You can use this mod to check your skill progress:

I know this is an old discussion, but it's one of the top search results on Google, so I'll go ahead and say this. The actual best way to gain foraging xp is to craft and grow wild seeds in any season. Picking up the result of these seeds yields foraging xp at the same rate as it would picking them from anywhere else on the map, making it the most efficient way to level up foraging.

So... if your farming is 10 you have the seed maker.

in winter the beach can be hoed for winter roots, you run those thru the seed maker and plant them in your field, each harvest yields 3 foraging XP. 15000, to level 10. I think 5000 from 9 to 10.

nothing else to do with the field in winter except to level foraging.

and once you get your harvest you turn them back into more seeds and keep going for more XP.

you can also get winter roots earlier from the frost slimes in the mines.
You can get to Foraging level 10 without the seed maker. I barely used the seed maker and managed to get it to 10. I'm not sure if it was first or second in line (Farming is level 10 aswell)

Though, I'm one of those who picks up items off the floor a lot, especially with the help of Gatherer
