How can I downgrade/delete/drop/lose my hoe?
I upgraded the basic hoe to the copper version, but I regret it because it's a lot slower now. The fact I can now till 3 plots of land at once doesn't seem to save energy compared to per-tile tilling, so it doesn't feel like that makes the upgrade worth it.

Is there a way to get rid of equipment or replace it with an earlier version?

That's not possible, i'm afraid. I think you could put it into a chest, blow it up and it would get destroyed.
Later, the major should give you a new one as far as i know, but i'd make a backup of your save to be on the safe side.

Using an upgrade hoe for a single tile has exactly the same speed and energy cost, than the standart one, so why would you wanna downgrade? Also, using it to till 3 squares at once has the same energy cost than using it 3 times on one square.

Good idea, I'll try this out. I'm going to have to see if I can make bombs, but I'm pretty sure I can. Any particular ones I should use or

It doesn't. It has a slight delay on my end and it takes almost twice as long before it finishes animating. I have no lag issues in the game, so I doubt it's because of that. I'm pretty sure the copper hoe (and better ones) has this delay so the player can activate the three-tile-tilling power, but I honestly don't find it that impressive or useful. :/

Weird, it's pretty fast and efficient for me.

I suggest you just upgrade it again, instead of trying to get rid of it.

Iron = 5 tiles
Gold = 3x3 tiles

Also great and efficient for farming cave carrots and artifacts in the mines on the soft ground. (the type of ground, where duggies spawn)

Does it have the same energy cost and delay before the power-up activates?

Unless I'm missing something every swing costs 1 energy, whether it be a single tile break, a 3 tile line or a 3x6 rectangle.

Yes, but it's still much faster than tilling each single square. Once you've getting used of the charge mechanic, you don't wanna go back.

The watering can gets it's upgrades the same way. It's so much faster to water stuff now.

Nope. 1 tile = 1 energy.

Now I need to test this as soon as I get home...

Can confirm with the hoe specifically, a 6x3 tilled action consumes only 1 energy at level 10 farming. The hoe seems unique in this way.

Oh is it farming level related?

Yes. Your tools use less energy as you level up the skill associated with it. Hoe = farming

downgrading doesn't make any sense. BUT if you REALLY want to get rid of your hoe, take ONLY your hoe to the mines and die

Tried it with three different types of bomb, the chest was unharmed and the hoe survived as a result.

Tried it, the hoe was still in my inventory.

At this point I'm pretty sure I'd need to resort to savefile editing if I wanted to downgrade the hoe...

Upgraded my hoe to Iridium and would never go back to anything less, being able to till a 6x3 area at once is amazing!

Wanting to downgrade, in all honesty, shows you are new. It is by far faster, and uses less energy to upgrade your tools and use them properly.

I thought that the regular watering can was faster than using copper or higher, I timed it, and was SORELY mistaken. I would advise just adjusting and learning how to manipulate the hoe.

As a tip, you can stand in the middle of 1 square, and actually hoe 15 spaces without moving an inch, you just need to watch your mouse placement.

The circle is where you stand, and hoe down (works with watering too) This shows the copper hoe/copper watering can.

I lost my hoe in the desert mine, what should I do?
