Alternative to using fences?
The wooden ones break in a few days, stone doesn't last much longer, and hardwood I can only obtain 8 a day of, and I have a whole load of fences to put down.

This is pretty much the only game mechanic I dislike. Is there something I can use instead of fences that won't be overtaken by plants/trees? I know there is a fence mod, but it is not working for me, for whatever reason.

Gravel Paths might stop / slow down the overgrowth.
stone doesnt last much longer? iam repairing mine once every 3 seasons , thats definitly not too bad. Otherwise do hardwood, if you go into the secret forest daily youre gonna be overflowing with them soon (12 daily there)

Mine break in a few weeks. I'm guessing it is some kind of bug, but even then my wood fences should last longer then a week.
It is driving me up the wall. I just want a nice looking farm... And for whatever reason, I only get 8 daily hardwood in the forest.

If you have a spouse they will repair your fences every 3rd / 4th day approximately.
Youre probably missing the 4 hardwood you get from the area at the bottom of the screen, theres a hidden passage in the bushes before you hit the lake.

Ah, that might explain it. Only ever saw anyone in the general area.
Guess metal/ hardwood it is then, until I can get the fence mod working.

I'm using lightning rods. They are useful, look good and you can move them anytime :)
