Chickens always grumpy/looking thin
Decided to get them in the fall and it's now almost mid-winter. I've gotten some eggs from them during the fall, but they've only shown affection 3 times midway thru the winter season. I let them out in the fall and even bought a heater and silo for them for the winter. Are they slow to warm up to or something or is just winter a bad season for animals in general?

You're sure the hay troth is full every day? A single heater should be enough for each coop.

There's currently 237 bunches of hay in there.

You didn't forget to feed it right? Unless it's a deluxe coop, you still need to manually feed it. And don't forget to pet it daily

Unless you have the deluxe version of the coop (which has the auto-feed), you need to manually pull hay out of the dispenser on the left back of the coop and put it on the feeding bench that runs along the back.

Ohhh, so that's how it works. I assumed they would feed themselves with just the hay in the troth.

Put 4 hay on the feeding bench and two disappeared the next day (I've 2 chickens atm). Petted them and they showed affection! Thanks guys!

This game doesnt explain anything. Thanks for mentioning the bench. I just put hay in the feeder and thought they would be fine but nope i was starving them because the hay just had to be on the stupid bench
