No worms showing up on farm and misc. artifact struggles

I'm about 3/4 of the way through the achievements but one that I've maintained focus on that is unbearably slow is the museum collection. There's artifacts that supposedly come from worms on your farm? Problem is, I haven't seen worms on my farm in like two years. No joke, every day of rain I scour my entire farm and there's never a single spawn. My farm isn't even completely built up, there's plenty of space for them to spawn but it just isn't happening. I don't know what to do.

The worms in the other areas suck too. I've always checked the TV to see what days are giving me good luck, I pop a luck buff, and go out worm hunting (if its a rainy day I spend almost the entire day running around looking for them) and I always get artifacts I've already found or mixed seeds/stone/clay. This is incredibly frustrating.

I've gotten all the artifacts that come from fishing chests and the mines, all that is left are the ones from these stupid worms. Is there any other strategy to this I've missed or is just being a hapless victim of RNG? How can I still be missing over a dozen artifacts near the end of my third year after so much effort? I must have hoed over hundreds of worms by now. This is the only part of the game that has irritated me to no end.

I've never seen worms on my farm. I didn't think that occurred.

I have gotten artifacts just from tilling the ground around town, and in the mines where you don't see worms at all.

Maybe that no longer happens then, but there's two artifacts that are still listed on the wiki as being a 10% loot from your farm. There's no way that would be from simply tilling soil though or else my luck is astronomically bad.

I did not know you could get these artifacts simply from tilling soil around town, I thought they had to be from worms. I'll give it a shot.

ive tilled the entire beach like 5 times, only ever gotten clay

Worms aren't effected by luck.. Its pre-decided at day start (I tried reloading and using luck and foraging buffs, always the same).

But if your sure its only in worms, then winter is the best time to search.. Otherwise you just search daily..

Also there are none on the farm, the "Farm" ones like rusty spur and chicken statue are found in the fishing chests.. Spur is also I think a town worm.. not 100% sure now been to long..

After some checking imo rain doesn't effect worms.. Its just luck if they appear..


.. For RNG.. I spent 1 full year + a month to get the ancient sword which was my final artifact.. I am on year 4 and the tv has yet to give me all the recpies it gives (I lack 2)..

The other day a poster here said what got him to complete the artifact achievement so quickly was rain totems, because it increased the worm spawns. I wasn't going to take that route myself unless it was the last achievement I needed.

Edit-Btw just curious, which 2 recipes have you not seen? I have 2 myself that have never aired (Fiddlehead Risotto and Poppyseed Muffin)

Turns out I am missing 3.. I missed one early when I was looking..Missing: Poppyseed Muffin, Crab Cakes, and Lobster Bisque(which I guess also comes from willy so I guess I'll get that when his birthday rolls around since he should be 10 hearts after his gift)..

As for the rain thing.. Idk for me it felt like it was no different, it can't hurt though- one thing for sure that helps is a mod like this:

That makes them easily spoted.. So you at lest never miss one. The chest one is very stand-outish..
