The only thing to do is just plan better... https://stardew.info/planner/

It would be nice, it also becomes difficult to marginally move a Coop or Barn across a few tiles when there's animals inside. You can't destroy the first without housing them, and you cant house them because you need the first to be destroyed.

is there really no option to move it :(

No, you cannot move buildings. You have to demolish and then rebuild. (I've never done it before, so I don't know what happens to one's animals...)

You're welcome. A guy who posts here on the forums created it -- it really is a very cool tool :-)

That planner is a very nice tool. I haven't used it much to seriously plan a layout, since I'm the sort that is constantly changing my mind about stuff (heh) but still nice just to gain a general idea of how you want to section off/divide the land.

^^ I tend to let my farm grow more organically. I do, however, use the planner to check radii of things like beehouses and scarecrows.

You get an error message when you try and demolish a building with animals housed there. You have to interact with each animal and change their 'home' (which obviously can't be done if you don't have a 2nd building).

Your choices are basically to either go through the hassle of building an entirely new building way off, moving every animal, destroying the original building and then rebuilding the first building in the place you want it. Then once it's build and fully upgraded, move the animals back from the temp building.

Or you sell every animal, destroy the building and basically start from scratch.

What is the error message when you try and destroy the building? Are you positive you have no remaining animals housed in that building? I know I personally had a stray duck who had sometime during the season wandered to the other side of the farm and never had access back to the coop blocking my demolishing.

Also check for any items you've placed inside -- boxes, cheese press, etc.

THanks for replying Sir Ruffington! I appreciate it.

You can also try searching for the save game editor tool via Google. It will allow you to mod your save, including a feature that lets you move buildings, but it is very experimental and thus has some risk.
