New Update
A small patch went out. Apprently one of the changes is Kegs now require Oak resin. Also honey huts now require maple syrup. Anyone know what the other changes are so far or notice anything different with other crafting recipes? Patch notes don't seem to be up anywhere yet.

Indeed, an unpleasant surprise for me! Was just going to build some more kegs...

Definitely makes use of the syrup and resin, they've just been stockpiling in my Artisan's chest.

My keg plans are now on hold as I wait for oak resin. I had some stockpiled, but not enough.

The keg makes sense. Then its good I started early my tapping.

Could be they wanted the community to find the changes and be surprised?

Interesting way to try to balance the keg/honey I guess? I would prefer a sell-price/Artistan reduction or something, but ...

Patch notes will be up before long I'm sure, he just did the patch upload first.

So I don't mind the changes, long term/generally speaking, but it is one nice thing about using the GoG version. I can patch it when I want ... so first I'll build some more kegs/hives. bwahaha. *winkwink

To answer OP, flicking over all the crafting items I have not seen any other changes.

so thats what that update was... not sure why you would use maple syrup on a bee house I can understand using oak resin on a keg thouhg... gives a use for the saps I guess not a big deal... but not a huge fan of this type of balancing... just makign things more tedious to make...thena gain besides all teh chopping and mining it doesnt take all that long to make a bunch of kegs...

Indeed... I've had to plant a huge tree farm to get a steady supply going. From the beginning of the game, I've had 3 of each tree tapped, and not sold but one of each type for the achieve, so I had a small stockpile. But man-oh-man... sigh. It will take a lot more to fill my (second) 130-ish keg barn.

Well, that was close! At least I've finished my 10 bee houses before this patch.

Can't wait for the patch note btw. :sadpanda:

This is the second time I wish I knew about an update before actually updating the game...

Any way to stop the game from auto-updating? That used to be a thing (from properties -> update in individual games), but I'm not seeing that option for Stardew.

the biggest thing about it that bothers me is just the sheer amount of time it takes to get the saps... you get liek 2-3 harvests per month depending on the type... unless you set up like50 tappers its going to take a long time to gather enough sap to do anything...

Pretty much, yeah. This feels... excessive.

I like that we're getting more uses for syrupt/sap/tar, but not when it's for such basic items.

If you're like me and you've had a tree farm going from pretty much month one then you're fine. It shouldn't be "I want to build 100 kegs, oh darn I need x resource, oh darn to get x resource i'm going to need 100 trees", expand slowly and make preparations beforehand.
