Watering the cat
Even since i heard about people watering the cat so it's not thirsty , i have to water the cat everytime i see it then after i pet it it goes meow. It is like a ritual for me now.

I actually wish there was a more meaningful way to interact with your pet. From what I've seen, petting them only affects one specific event in gameplay (Having a good relationship with your pet gives you 1 point on your evaluation at the end of year 2,) and watering them doesn't affect it at all.
