Autumn's Bounty
On the food it says it gives +2 foraging and +2 defense. Is this permanent or does it only last for a certain amount of time?

Those are temporary bonuses. You'll see a small icon near where the time/date is while they are active.

The buffs from food only lasts for a while. The highest time I have seen so far was around 8 minutes.

If you mouse-over the food it will tell you how much time is remaining. The only permanent "food" is the Stardrop, which is immediately consumed upon acquisition. All other foods are temporary.
