Do you lose the 9 items you put in the showcase at the Fair festival?

Yes, you get everything back.

Yes, you can get them back. You do need to remember to actually pick them up once the judging is over though

Just make sure you pick them up before you leave the festival!

I just left without picking them up the first time (i was second place) on another playthrough when I won, the mayor told me to pick them up. I must have missed his comment on my first one

Did they patch this or something? I swear the 1st time I did it, I went to see if I could get my stuff back, and it was all gone. The bin was empty. So I've never looked since, on other chrs.

I had the exact opposite happen to me.... I played the game from the first day it came out. I know that I got the items back the first time I did the fair. The second time, I either didn't see the mayor's comment or maybe the items were auto-transported back the first time. (I lost the second event's produce).

I bought the game days after release and have been able to get all the stuff back in both years I've participated. I'm about go through it again in year 3, and like before I'm scrounging for stuff.

I do, but usually not gold star stuff. Last year I forgot until the day before. I was rifling through every chest looking for stuff to enter, and used some things I harvested that very morning. Actually won the event, much to my surprise.

I don't know how the evaluation is done. I will use high value items like gold star crops, or gold star things I've harvested, expensive artisan goods, expensive gems, etc. I've done jelly. Maybe this year I'll enter some ancient fruit or starfruit wine if I remember to keep any.
