I know Concerned Ape put it on hold for a while until the latest SV update is completed and deployed.
It most likely involves chocolate and something supernatural. :steammocking:

Jesus this is in the same lot as ES6, Fallout 5, GTA 6 in the concept that it's been a good half a decade or so since they've been announced with not even a rumor of when they're supposed to get released.

Let's be even-handed, It's one person more or less working on it. fwiu, ape is working on 1.6 and then should jump back into the other game. Though as I understand it, ape announced another game as well.

You want to see dev hell? Look up the chris-chan fan-game. Person behind it essentially copped out because Chris was in jail at the time and they "didn't feel right" and were "bored" working on it and might release what they have so far. That was back in May. Ape at least is making conten,t as opposed to certain other games that basically were DOA *cough* stomping lands *cough*.

As opposed to a certain other lone dev constantly “working” on a game that’s been in alpha since forever. Takes on “volunteers” with no pay. Then when asked for progress, spergs out on social media by going: “UGH WHEN ITS DONE!”

Goodness, you do realize ONE person is making both these games right? The only added people that help 'develop' were for translation purposes and I believe multiplayer and getting the game on different platforms.

Have you made a game that's this big? If so, please tell us how quickly you finished it.

He wants to put out quality. . .it's like complaining about Deltarune taking forever. Be grateful that CA has been generous to NEVER CHARGE for updates. . .because lets be real. . .Ginger Island SHOULD have been paid for DLC and most devs would have done that.

Many people theorised that'd come out in 2023. But that was before 1.6 was announced, or at least talked about. After 1.6 is out, I'm guessing he'll only focus on Haunted Chocolatier until it's out. But I'm just guessing. We really don't know much and I do want HC to come out, but I'm happy that Stardew hasn't been abandoned. CA is just one guy so it might take a bit but I believe he's bringing assets from Stardew because you can see some things that look similar to Stardew. So it might not take too, too long. But again, he's one guy. All we can do for now is be excited for this new adventure we'll have once it's complete! I can't wait! :stardrop:

Just saying would it kill NOT to announce a game SEVERAL YEARS before it even has an release date? Like why do that? Why announce a game if you don't even know when you're going to release it? You know it wouldn't bother fans if they don't know you're working on a new game but it bothers fans when you say you're working on it and you make them think your close to releasing it and in the end have no actual concept of when you might be able to release it.

I ....don't know what to say. DId ape ask for money to kickstart chocolatier? because if so you can get indignant, did he take preorders?

otherwise it will be out when its ready, and maybe he should do those things and hire a team to get it out faster. make some jobs.

It's called generating hype? Keeping fans in the loop? Do I agree the time frame is a bit extended? Yeah, sure. But I never go into a given year super excited over the fact I MIGHT get to play one specific game. I don't even believe in hard release dates anymore, since things happen and we've seen enough triple A games get pushed back (and still be trash).

Personally I like the drip feed teasers. I'd rather that to keep it somewhat fresh in my mind than a shadow drop I don't hear about until a year later.
