Mod Lag
So, my computer sucks, it's old and can't handle too much at once without lagging. I'm currently playing with Stardew Valley Expanded and Ridgeside Valley (along with its supporting mods), and its lagging a lot. Loading up my world can take upwards of 8 minutes, and it'll sometimes just crash when I go to sleep in game. I was wondering if there's anything I could do to make my world not lag so much without removing the mods? Thanks for your help in advance.

Edit: I've found out something weird, it seems to only crash if while it's loading I left click... Right clicks, button pressing, all that is fine, but if I left click it crashes... I'm not sure why. But other than that, thanks for helping me figure out what to do to those who replied. Have a great day/night. :stardrop:

No, except for removing big content mods such as Expanded or Ridgeside.

Expanded and Ridgeside are both huge files so only solution is to remove one of the two or deal with the horrendus loadingtimes and occasional crashes I'm afraid

Or get a cheap and (relatively) small ssd to move Stardew over and it should be soo much smoother.

As someone with a (slightly) newer computer. . . it's just how it goes. The first time I loaded all my mods I was. . .terrified at how it look it load. Then I turned around and looked at my husband loading Rimworld and all its mods. . .

Mod any game to high heaven and it will be sluggish on startup. These days I turn it on, load into my farm and walk around for a minute or two with Smapi on my second monitor to make sure it loaded properly.
