Guides on making custom items.

Hello,

I want to make a custom item for the game, say a food item, that you can buy in Pierre's. However I can't seem to find or make sense of much of the information on how to do it. I found videos on how to create custom locations, and how to replace portraits but not putting in new items. And going on the wiki I'm not too sure what is relevant to what I want. I have downloaded some mods to see how they have done it, tried to copy them but my custom item never shows up in the game or the mod list. The command window shows no errors, it doesn't tell me my mod is ignored but apparently is loaded but it's nowhere to be seen.

Are there any guides or tutorials on how to actually make a custom item for the game?

Sure, after I make this post I manage to find a mod I can copy the methods of and it works. The item is in Pierre's shop for the amount I set it at and I can eat it. The only problem now is it doesn't load the sprite for it. I'm looking at the error message for it.

What mod did you use as a guide?
