Or there's " Vortex " that can help out too
When you've worked things out it will be so simple to add more mods
Even Terraria doesn't offer mods on the game's own workshop. You have to download TModloader and use that app's workshop to install mods and launch the game. The only way we'd have workshop for Stardew Valley mods is if ape partnered with a SV mod loader to put them on steam under a separate game. Like ReLogic did with TModloader.
It works fine. I'm using it right now, modded the whole thing via Vortex, big mod list, everything is fine.
When I added the game, it gave me a big "SMAPI IS NOT INSTALLED. INSTALL?" warning, I said yes, it installed it. No bugs, no errors, no problems.
Same policy exists most places that host mods. It breaks mod packs if you suddenly decide to delete your mod so once you upload it, it stays, even older versions, because some mod packs might only work with those older versions. Nothing negates making money from the mods. The policy is just to keep stability for users. People just panicked at there being a change but the change is for the better. Curseforge is an easy example, they also keep your mods uploaded/archived forever, but no one is fleeing since it's always been that way.
Yes. It worked great for me too. I installed the 3 main town modpacks so tons of mods plus a few qol ones I like. I think Vortex was rough at first but it works smoothly now.
