Cuz corncerned ape has already stated unless the modders the people making the mods wants it he wont do it he has no desire to split the modding community and some modders on nexus makes thair mods as a full time job

Because there's no need for such feature. Modding the game is easy.

I watched some tutorials on YouTube. The really popular mods usually have tutorials just for themselves too.

Yeah, its not difficult at all. Especially for Stardew Valley, just make a Nexus account, download and run the SMAPI Installer, find some mods you want, read their description, go to the Files tab on the mods' page and download it, then unzip it and stick it in the Mods folder in your Stardew Valley folder.. Tadaa!

I installed Nexusmods and the first screen searches for specific games like fallout or skyrim. I added the SF.exe instead but it always shows me fail error screen :( cant start the programm as long it doesnt find any games..

Installed Nexusmods? Huh? Do you mean their inhouse modmanager Vortex?

Some SDV players managed to get the modmanager to work with SMAPI. SMAPI is the modding API you need to run mods for SDV. Without SMAPI, no mods. Simple.

Yeah something seems odd here. I do have a guide on the subjects that is very easy to follow and useful if you are new to modding. All you need to do is read carefully:

From what I've heard, Vortex straight up doesn't work with SMAPI. That'll be the problem. You'll want to go straight to the site, download the mods, and place them into the games "Mods" folder, which will be there once you've installed SMAPI.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but for a Workshop to exist on Steam, mods have to be usable without third party apps, right? Stardew Valley does not have its internal mod capability yet (though I think that's coming in 1.6?)

If you wanna mod, you have to either "dirty mod" with changing .xnb files which be very messy, or you can mod by using SMAPI which is a third party app.

I've never seen a steam workshop that requires the installation of a 3rd party program to get mods to work in the first place.

I used vortex to install stardew mods and it worked fine. It's possible you might need to install smapi manually, I already had it so I'm not sure. Everything went smoothly though.

I've never used it Vortex for Stardew myself, its just what I've heard from others.
