Convenient Way to Rearrange Farm?
Is there a convenient way to rearrange your farm without having to lose lots of time, money, etc.? My original farm was the fishing farm and I've realized on year 4 that my farm isn't very well laid out. I don't really want to lose all of my progress with the story, unlocks, etc. but I do want my farm to be laid out a little better.

Or would it be best to just start over?

Winter is a good season to rearrange your farm

You can also use the planner to help you with it:

https://v3.stardew.info/

Click on "Layout" on the upper left to pick the River Farm.

Is there any way to rearrange the farm without losing time and money or not really?

Install the tractor mod if u into mods, it will make it easier to destroy wood, grass and rocks in your fields

Not really. Time is money I guess. So you will loose money. Hence why I said to do it in winter. You don't really grow any crops. there is no grass and leafy greenery is gone, so you can see the ground better. Rearraning your buildings via Robin won't cost any money as far as I know.

I will be sad to chop down all of my fruit trees and have to replant them. I haven't played in a few years, but if I remember correctly, older trees gave higher quality fruits. :steamsad: They are just in a really bad spot. I don't think I knew at the time that they could be planted on grass that you can't plant crops on, so I planted them where I should have a big field of crops. :cozyspaceengineersa:

The fastest way is definitely to just place bombs, but it's obviously quite destructive. Worth doing that for trees or path ways, but you should pick up expensive equipment first.

Also might be worth to plan your farm first, so that you don't need to do it ingame

Yeah I played when the game first came out and there were no "planner" websites, mods, etc.

Check at Robin's for tree transplantation. Not sure anymore if it is a vanilla feature or modded.

I am curious, have you revisit Community Center and check out Pantry area? You can unlock Greenhouse, which gives a far better place for fruit trees to grow. They bear fruits everyday while being in there.

Robin can help moves buildings, Shipping bin, anything that cannot be moved via tool. Since Fruit Tree is choppable, it can't be moved.

Time is paused while player is rearranging building. Anything that is destroyed are not refundable. But gold in Stardew Valley is not very hard to earn even for casual player, thanks to Summer's Starfruit and Fishing. You will get too much Tree Saplings from Skull Cavern in Desert, so no need to worry about the loss of fruit tree too.

If you never loss anything, you will never gain anything. That's Stardew Valley.

I used to just fill the greenhouse with starfruit then make starfruit wine. It seemed profitable years ago.

It is still way off the profit chart and often recommended in guides. The reason many players don't always plant Starfruit inside Greenhouse and Ginger Island, is due to Ancient Fruit that can regrow fruits. Either of those, your income issue is solved.

For space issue, consider remove some unnecessary stuff. Such as 10+ Fish Pond to like 1 - 5. Anything that could move to Ginger Island, Farmhouse, or Big Shed, consider moving them. Ex: Tappers on trees in Desert

Just take your time and take it as a progress. Like tidying up.

It takes time to rearrange a farm no matter what. Check out the Stardew Planner online to decide on what you wanna do before you start the process.

If you want to try playing with mods, I recommend some mods found on the Nexus that people have already mentioned in this thread. #1: The Tractor mod makes *everything* faster. You can even go into the config file for the mod and allow it to break paths and fences, making cleanup super easy. #2: I looooove the TreeTransplant mod. You can go to Robin's and move trees on your farm like you would a building. No need to cut down your good quality trees and start over - just move them where you like. Since using this mod I've been really into orchards and lining pathways with fruit trees, and I'm not scared to buy them earlier in the game. I buy however many I can afford and plop them down anywhere, knowing I can always move them somewhere pretty later if my farm plan changes.

Ooh! Can I install the tree transplant mod, move the trees, then uninstall the mod? I don't want to "cheat" but I really want to rearrange my farm without losing a bunch of work!

Technically yes. It should work.
