I have used this mod for years, I dont use for vanilla but when you have SVE, Ridgeside village, east scaarpe etc, you NEED a time mod
This one is customizable, I personally just edit the file it gives you for 2xspeed (double the length of time).
Basically how this game works, NPC schedule 8am - 10 am stand about. 10:10 am go somewhere etc
The reason time mods dont mess up their schedules is because it takes 2 3 4 or 5 times longer for example, for it to go from 10am to 10:10 am so at 10:10 am the npc above knows to go somewhere ad wont until that time comes, so if you change the amount of seconds each ten in game minutes last for, it is irrelevant to the npc schedules how long it takes to go from 10:00 to 10:10, they dont care, they wont move until 10:10 even if you have a mod that makes ten minutes last an hour.
The only way a time mod could mess up schedules is if they removed certain time flags (skips one of the ten minute ticks)
Probably too much info, but in short, nope.
Heres the mod I use, there are others but I know this one works

But i'm happy to know customizing time scale isn't an issue. I am playing mostly vanilla SDV save for these QoL mods. Day time is too short and NPC schedules are hard to learn at first because you cannot take the liberty of following them without sacrificing precious time you could spend in the mine or your farm.
Yea I know, I used to use a time mod for vanilla too, once your really familiar with the game though normal speed is fine, especially once you have sprinklers etc but I do remember I used to think the days too short too
