I currently have 2 immunity +4 rings and my shoes are the space boots i think that also give me +4 immunity and it still takes like a few hits to down me. I'm constantly having to hoard food to survive.:flamey_sad: anyone have any tips on what I should be using to help.

Just as a reminder: Min-maxing is definitely a valid strategy, but definitely not the only way of playing the game.

Bombs cost tons of money, so it's ok to not go in with hundreds of them. Crystallariums cost tons of stone (ore money to buy stone), so it's ok to simply mine stone in the skull caverns. You won't level up your combat skill (the ingame skill as well as actually being able to fight monsters), if you avoid fights at all, so it's ok to also go and fight stuff.

And most importantly: Don't forget, that Iridium is a ressource for luxury products. There's not really that much you can do with it beyond upgrading tools and building sprinklers. Very late in the game it is also needed for deluxe fertilizer and hoppers, but at that point you can probably already live off of the statue of perfection already.

You won't find the slime charmer ring in the Guild shop at all until you reach the goal of 1,000 slimes. However, you will get one for free as your reward for doing so. In case you don't know, you can check the poster just behind Gil inside the shop for a list of all monster slayer goals and how much progress you've made thus far in each.
Oh Thank you I was wondering how to check and see how much I've done!!:CatKira:

1. The Skull Cavern rewards total commitment. Don't just casually go in and see how well you do. Prepare resources ahead of time: buff foods, regular (health/energy) foods, espresso, bombs, slingshot, explosive ammo, staircases, and warp totems, and store them in a chest next to your bed. Put your TV next to your bed too. Then wait for a very happy spirits day, checking the TV immediately when you wake up. When you get very happy spirits and your equipment is prepared, swap your items with what you prepared in the chest, use the desert warp totem, and dive in. Stay in the Skull Cavern all day, deliberately passing out at 2am.

2. Remember why you're there: iridium. If you see copper, iron, gold, or gems while you're down there, even if it's just a second's detour from your path, skip it. Those are easy enough to find in the regular mines, and every moment you're not either diving deeper into the Skull Cavern or collecting iridium is a moment you're not making the best use of all the resources you spent getting down there. (Exception: open chests on treasure floors of course.)

3. There should be very minimal use of your pickaxe. The first major excursion into the caverns you want to be using mostly bombs. You'll probably only be able to afford a few staircases at that point which you'll save for infested floors or for the very long spiral floors. Bombs do very little damage to the player, just tank it and heal as necessary. If you've never used explosive ammo with the slingshot before, give that a try and get familiar with how it works.

4. Ignore enemies as much as possible. You might need to fight off the occasional serpent just to get a moment to breathe, but otherwise keep moving to rock clusters and bombing.

5. Your first major haul of iridium should go primarily into building crystalariums. Use these to duplicate jade. Then trade the jade for staircases. Once you have a large staircase stockpile, you can easily go much deeper and get more iridium for everything else you might use it for.
This helps A LOT!! thank you I totally forgot about going on a happy spirits day! I'm currently trying to stock pile jade but will keep this in mind!:CatHapi:
