tools disappeared

I went to the mine and died there, and after that the tools that were in the chest on the farm, such as a watering can, a shovel and a scythe, disappeared. They were definitely in the chest, and not with me in the mine. Please tell me what to do in this case and how to find them.

It's not possible for the tools to disappear on their own, at least in the 'vanilla' game.

Either you (or your friends?) placed them somewhere else, or its a mod issue.

it was a single player game and I'm sure the tools were there, but I also looked at all the options, still nothing. Also, no mods.

You can go coop, make the other player give you the missing tool, then delete the player from your game, that'd be the easiest way.
For that, you can just plug in a controller and do it by yourself, or add someone from steam to get in your game.

Did you try looking in the Lost & Found in the Mayor's office? Or asking the Adventurer's Guild about item recovery?

I assume talk to the one of two people in the guild.

I personally just restart the day if I die in the mines.

Interact with the guy behind the counter in the Guild. You have to do it within a day of "losing" items.
