Reaching is arguably the best enchantment for the hoe, since you don't really use it anyway, except for when you need to till land at the beginning of a season, at which point that might save some time (and it perfectly matches the 5x5 area of the iridium sprinklers). Archaeologist might also help, if you still need to find artifacts from artifact spots. Though generally i usually don't enchant the hoe due to it being barely used anyway (unless i have tons of excessive ressources obviously^^)

And for the watering can i always go with bottomless, as not needing to refill water will usually save more time than having a slightly bigger area to water. Also it is way more comfortable in the vulcano dungeon, as you can simply use more water without the need to make sure to get to level 5 for the refill.

With the exception of efficient which is terrible imo (no energy drain) I think better just depends on how you play and what you do. I like generous for the hoe (50% chance to double items) and bottomless or generous for the watering can.

I use seeds to keep the ground watered and hoed between seasons so the only thing I use the hoe for is artifact spots and the extra resources are nice. For the watering can, I prefer bottomless because like Maya-Neko said not having to refill is usually quicker if you have a lot of hand watering to do but generous is nice too (especially on the beach farm) so I usually just go with whichever one I get first.

I guess it depends on play style. I plant a LOT of crops. Day 1 of spring & summer is always hard trying to get everything tilled, planted and watered. Fall is not so bad as I use wheat to keep the fields tilled. I don't have a problem with running out of water as I have the two ponds plus my fish ponds on the farm so I'm never more than a few steps from a water source, and I've never had a problem with water in the volcano.

So for me it's either swift or reaching. I'd like to know if anyone has run tests to see which is actually faster at doing a large number of tiles.
