Iron - floor 41+42
Gold - 81+82
Radioactive - 1+2
These are all relatively small floors, so you can oversee the whole area quite easy.
And if you're playing multiplayer and are not the host, then 52 is by far the best for coal farming, since the cart always resets^^
That's only true for skull cavern. For the normal mines, the spawn chances for ores, the monsters you can meet and even the floor plans are always the same.
While you can't accurately predict the amount of ores per each visit, you can still definitely visit the same floor over and over again and optimize your approach and that's definitely easier on smaller rooms with less strong monsters. Especially the small round ones (1, 41 and 81 for examply) can be easily fully covered with a red bomb or you can leave within like 1 second, if you don't see any ore. Though, if you want to spend 2 minutes on a spiral floor farming 10 ores, then nobody is stopping you
while this predominately gets me iridium. I also get a good chunk of other ores.
if you stock up on bombs from the dwarf, or otherwise simply rushing down the mines for qi when they are radio active gets me a ton of ores, cuz I break stuff when its worth slowing down for.
but if we are doing regular ores -Copper floor 21 (kinda sucks really prefer skull cavern)
iron- floor 41 or 61
gold floor 81 or 101
Stone -floor 1 (much better after you get deconstructors to just deconstruct staircases)
I have also noticed, having done a few tests myself, that using the elevator to travel to different floors will not cause them to reset - they will remain as they were until you exit via the ladder.
The room layouts always stay the same. You'll always find a small circular room in 1, 41 and 81, a long tube with a minecart at 12, 52 and 92 and the spiral in 19, 59 and 99. And the enemies are the same as well all the time, so you'll always find maggots and flies at 11-19, dust sprites and slimes on 51-59 and skeletons on 61-69.
Obviously there are things that change like the amount of rocks and ores on the floor and the position of the ladder, but that's the point of repeadedly doing the same rooms over and over again instead of doing a series of rooms: It's easier to enter a room, farm the nodes you want and then reset the floor by leaving and going back in. It is definitely faster, than going through tons of room and wasting 80% of the time searching for a ladder, because you've some bad RNG that day.
And as said: That's only usable for the normal mines. The skull caverns are obviously completely random, so this strategy isn't usable there and the volcano mines obviously doesn't reset at all, even when leaving the mines.
btw there is no real reason o sleep prior midnight as only after the penalty to energy regen starts -and even than I would argue once you have sufficient replenishment sources (eg. first salmonberry season), it is worthy go sleep 1:50 am as the time spend on activities is more valuable than dozen of energy points zou can replenish in no time.
I thought if you didnt go to sleep by midnight you would have half your energy for next day, i will check when i get home today but do you wake up at 6am regardless if you miss 12 oclock bedtime?
For coal farming what is the best floor if u don't play multiplayer ?
