How to deactivate mods
Hello, I've recently downloaded Stardew Valley on mac and wanted to download some mods. My question is how would I go about deactivating mods if I wanted to play without them and would it mess with any of my modded play throughs? Also how do I get the mods back to play modded play throughs?

As long as your keeping your modded playthroughs and non-modded playthroughs separate, you should be okay.

As for how to remove them, I haven't played with mods in Stardew in over a year so I don't really remember how to turn them off.

remove it from the mods folder

it is a good idea to mod your game with SMAPI. With that in place, you have the mods in a separate folder, so the vanilla version still exists next to the modded version.

You can either tell steam to start the modded version from the steam library and use the exe file in the SDV-folder to start the vanilla version or just install SMAPI without changing the starting rules and have it the other way around.

Though it would obviously be a good idea to backup your save files, if you're scared about loosing them, but as long as you doesn't save over them you should be ok (like the end of a day is the only time when the game overrides any save file, so if something breaks, then just don't go to bed).

Just don't start the game via the SMAPI application.
