Which characters are the most popular, and why?

Im new to the game and Im really enjoying myself. But i would like to know what people think of the characters of this game. I don't have favourites yet.

If I had to go with one character, it'd probably be Shane. He's been through so much and I relate to him. Would I ever marry him? No. I feel like marriage with him would be complicated. (No offense to those who have married him. Second would be Sebastian. He's an introvert who just wants to be alone and get away from the world. He's a little difficult to befriend, but the heart events are worth it.

Hmm... to answer your question: as others have said, the bachelors/ettes are the most popular characters. Out of those characters though, Shane, Abigail, and Sebastian are probably the most popular. Shane I've noticed is not as popular in the steam community, but other communities.
My favorite marriages have been Elliott, Harvey, and Haley. Elliott and Harvey are just very sweet and romantic in different ways. Haley because of her character development. She starts off as very rude but grows a lot through her heart events. It's really nice, and she ended up being a very sweet partner. Alex, if you romance him as a male, is another one of my favorite candidates. Honestly, I enjoy almost all of the characters in the game to some extent lol.
As for not marriage candidates... everyone hates Lewis for one reason or another. I wish Pam had a bit more development, especially after how she treats Penny and what happened with them. Etc etc.
