Press the Windows key + R (or just use Search) and type in %appdata% then look for the Stardew Valley folder which in here is where your actual save is stored. So, you'll either want to create something a .zip of that folder or just copy it and rename it to something else, either works.
Next you'll want to go to your Steam folder in whichever Drive you put it in. For example:
C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common
You'll also see another Stardew Valley folder and you can do the same as mentioned above to back it up. Try to keep backups as often as you can, especially before installing any new mods and such.
The save is in C:\Users\YOURNAMEHERE\AppData\Roaming\StardewValley
Replacing YOURNAMEHERE with whatever you have.
You can always just back the save up then if something happens with the stardew valley files just verify the integrity of the files or uninstall it and reinstall it from steam.
E.g. My IGN is lonewolf, i would replace the folder called 'LoneWolf_11472263' or something like that, has a bunch of random numbers after it.
And np. Hope you enjoy the game and the mod. So far i havent had any issues with mods, although ive only got single file ones, such as one to change my pet =]
