Help please

So i'm trying to build another coop, but when I choose where I want to put it, there's this weird 1-tile large shadow that makes it unable to be placed

If it's by the cliff line, or the Greenhouse there's some random spots that block building placement. However you can sometimes still build on the tiles even if they are red for some reason.

its that tiny little oval shadow

Go back to your farm and check if there's an item or similar on that spot.
Also (although this might've been patched), you can't build things on tilled soil.

there's nothing there, blank nothingness

Oh that's easy, you've got floor tiles (stepping stones) there. Head back to your farm and pickaxe them up.

Edit: sorry you meant on the tilled ground.

He's talking about the shadow on the tilled soil.

It might be an item by the cliffside, some item shadows are cast a long way from the actual item, or it's a visual bug from a previous scarecrow.

the thing is, it only appears when im trying to place the building. If i go back to my farm, nothing will be there

This is a known bug that has yet to be patched.
