In Spring, and Fall if you shake some bushes you get Salmonberry and Blackberry respectively. That I believe counts as "foraging" and helps you level up nicely.
Even collecting beach items counts towards "foraging".
Basically just keep picking stuff up from the ground, or digging up the worms and you'll be maxing out "foraging" in no time.
Yep, I gained two levels just from clearing out the massive forest of oak, pine, and maple trees that had sprung up in my fields while I was busy fishing and mining for the first three seasons. Chopping the large tree trunks also give foraging exp, and I was hoping someone would mention they give a decent amount. It would make sense from a gameplay perspective, after all, since it requires some investment to do so as you need to upgrade your axe.
Or the best way i found out (still something i need to test in my next game), you plant those spring/summer/autumn/winter seeds (that you can craft) for making more other wild seeds..... and it does count as they were forage item (based on the fact im lvl 10 with botanist and everytime i do that i pick up 1or2 gold star at the time) pretty sure you can use that technic for lvl up fast
Hmm, Winter is almost over, so it's a bit late for me to plant the Winter seed packets, but I did complete the crafts room and got seed packets for all four seasons, so as soon as Spring comes I'll get out my shiny golden watering can and golden hoe that Clint is working on and plant those Spring packets. Thanks.
