I wouldn't go to the point of not recommending the game.. It's still a good game.. I guess after 130 hours I'm just done with it :/
Just an example.
Kids these days, no initiative. When I was a kid playing Morrowind and I came across things I didn't like I didn't go whining to Bethesda, I cracked open the toolkit and got to work learning how to mod so I could fix it myself.
The game's already playable, you just don't like a minor facet of the game because the random number gods hate you, and everyone else in existence really. Said facet would be pretty simple to mod, really, and I can think of a few different options to do so, ranging from adding the artefacts to the inventories of certain NPC's like the ♥♥♥♥♥ to simply making the odds of finding artefacts when fishing or hoeing higher.
As I said, if you don't like it then get to work on modding it make the base chance 5% or 50% or whatever floats your boat. I'm fine with the current odds. I haven't even finished my first year and I've filled in a good chunk of the museum just with what I've pulled out of the sea, if I had gone for pirate instead of angler and used lots of magnets or treasure hunter lures I'd probably have even more of it filled in.
If it's not filled by year three then it's not filled by year three, I'm in no rush, there's no urgent need to complete the museum's collection before the end of year three to prevent Gunther from being executed by the chief justice crunchwrap supreme of the museum council or anything silly like that, I'll fill it in eventually at my own pace.
The achievements shouldnt be the priority in the game, there are plenty of games out there with things to collect and that have small chances of getting them. It doesnt ruin the game at all, if you think that then why play it.
