best way to farm for ancient seed?

I tried the fishing method and got some dinosaur eggs but no ancient seed.

I used the seed makers some more and got an ancient seed. Since my greenhouse is full of starfruits that I make into wine, I put a surplus of 100 starfruits into the seed maker and that seemed to work.

Yeah, waiting for good luck days is important.

When I was farming for the Dino Egg I waited till I had a best luck day, fished all day, and if I didn't get something, I just reset and did the day over. The day was always a best luck day but what dropped from fishing was different every time.

I started using the Seed Maker (5 of them) after a good harvest to replenish my seeds for the next year. It takes no time at all to get a ton of seeds, and I happened to get Ancient Seeds after about 5 minutes of processing cranberries.

I got two of mine in the mines, but I'm not entirely sure where they came from, they were both in the section with all the weeds and grubs that turn into those annoying fly things if you don't kill them first, but I didn't see the notification that I found them, I just found them in my inventory when I went to chuck some fiber to make room for other items I wanted to pick up. The third one I found while fishing, though.

Take a hoe (or a lot of bombs) into the Stardew Valley mines on a good luck day, eat a Lucky Lunch if you have that. Hoe all the soft-looking dirt, whack all the weeds. On a good day I can walk away with 3 of the actual artifact seeds. Best luck I've had was on the Jungle flavored levels.

So they can drop from the weeds in the mines? I had thought that might have been where the ones I found came from, but since I never saw the notifications I couldn't be sure.
