Fisher or Trapper?
So I have been playing through the game and I am coming up on level 5 fishing and I am having issues with choosing a profession line. I just want to hear what people have to say, about both. So which profession is better?

Fisher is more useful, since Angler will let you get +50% income with fish. Here's a screen shot of a daily income chart off fishing with Angler active (Spring, Year 1):

How much time do you invest in fishing and how much time in catching crabs and the likes?
Do you "use" fishing for increasing your daily income or for cooking?

luremaster is a really great level 10 perk by going with trapper, you never have to bait crab pots again, but it all comes down to personal preference, do you want to catch a lot of fish yourself and sell at a higher profit or do you not want to bother with filling up crab pots with bait?

Ideally you should only be relying on fishing for about 12 =15Days in Spring, Year 1, after that its rushing mine level 120 by by Mid Spring Year 1 to get Quality Sprinklers (100+ if possible) ready by Summer 1, and convert to Iridium ASAP. The only time I go fishing after Spring, Year 1 is for ingredients for Lucky Lunch or for the Bundles/Stardrop Fruit from WIlly...

Especially if once you start Summer 1 with your first 1200 crops of Blueberries...

I don't think OP wants to speedrun the game.

Well I imagine that I'll have more time later in the game, but currently I put more time into farming and mining.

Then you probably won't really bother with fishing once you've reached level 10 and carry on with farming and mining, so I suggest the Crab Pot route.
Just don't pick Luremaster at level 10, pick Mariner and place a bunch of Crab Pots in your farm's ponds. Since you're mining, you'll always have enough bait.

I'd like to see someone speedrun the game with 2300+ crops to tend to every 4-5 days X_X

Angler doesn't take an initial investment of resources to see returns, although Luremaster route makes crab pots a reliable passive income source which prossibilities for good returns depending on the number of crab pots you are using, although going down to the River/Beach each day (since your pond farms can fit in so many pots) can eat up 1-2 hours of your daily in-game time.

From what I have read money isn't an issue late game, especially if you uses brewing and ancient fruit to make money

You don't really use fishing as late game income (its maximum daily is a measly 10-15k), its more to boost your initial income during Spring 1 to 60,000 - 100,000, after that use that money to buy 1200 Blueberry Seeds on Summer 1 Year 1 and transition to mid and late game income. The only thing Fishing is great for after Spring Year 1 is artifact hunting (if you have time to spare) or unlocking the achievements/Stardrop Fruit/Recipes for Willy.

True, but trapper reduces the resource requirements for building and what else do you do late game?

Late game for me is Year 2... after that ends I usually consider the run over and start a new game, this is my Y2 Fall Farm, it takes a lot of time, even without any Keg Barns. Extra time I have are used for Skull Caverning and getting other components for Kegs or in my case, Crystallariums.
