Sewers, missed opportunity
I was expecting so much more from that locked sewer gate and hatch. Underwhelming to discover it was just one room with a shortcut, an NPC with minimal use and a fishing spot with minimal use. I was hoping for another multi-level area to explore.

And who knows, the dev might do something more with it later on. Think of that and even just ask if he has plans to expand on that area. It would be an interesting place to farm(kill) slimes I think if he did more with it. After all...it is a sewer.
What were you expecting in a sewer? Another mine?

Yeah, Ok, I give you that. But I'm more interested in the exploring side of things in the sewer, and there isn't much exploring there.

Maybe (just maybe) CA will turn the sewers into a maze system which Krobus will grant you access to once you reach a certain number of hearts with him.
He might give you quests like "Destroy 5 giant enemy crabs by attacking their weak points for massive damage".
Throw in some mutated monsters and there we have another time killer.
I'd be happier with it if Krobus had something special to him other than being one of, like, three non-humans you can talk to. I'm not saying romance or anything, but I'd like if maybe... I dunno, I could unite him with the Dwarf to help their species get along or something.

That's what the cutscene with the wizard is for.
Also, the dwarf is the last of his kind (at least in the valley) and Krobus is (probably) an outcast.

I am right there with you, TC. I was so looking forward to opening up the sewer and finding a different style of dungeon in there .. or even some dark, town secret buried in a multi-part area.

The shop is great but i was hoping for more. Let's hope CA has something planned for this.
Yeah, the size threw me off too. It's got a big area and...nothing in it
It functions as a 'reward zone' where you get the sewer key after 60 artifacts, and it is a pretty big task to get those 60 artifacts... The pay off is this key, and your immediate reaction is 'Great, I can't wait to explore that locked off sewer'... It just doesn't pay off the way it could have.

Well by your 3rd playthrough, you can unlock that Sucker by Summer, Year 1, especially if you can get to the bottom of the mines by mid Spring Year 1, which lets you find Omni/Magma/Frozen Geodes which greatly accelerates the 60 artifact requirement.
While I like being able to buy those sprinklers and fish from the shop, I agree that the Sewers would have been more interesting as another area to explore. Not a multi-level mine, but a moderate size single-level sewer maze with "R.O.U.S." or some kind of mob (respawn every few days or whatever), maybe a secret room or two to discover. I dunno. Something. :)
