hay in winter...
I'm approaching my first winter and just wondering if it is advisable to sythe all the hay on the last of fall- or will it still grow during winter? Thanks!

It won't grow, scythe it all and buy hay from Marnie, except Mons and Tues when she doesn't work.

It will all disappear on Winter 1, so you definitely want to fill up those silos before the end of Fall.

lovely, thanks for the advice. I've filled one silo completely- debating a second silo!

Nothing grows in Winter (except for fruit trees and winter seeds).

From what I understand (haven't had my first winter, but Winter is Coming....)

...ehee...

...Erm, your grass will die when it gets cold, so it might be a good idea to get all your hay while you can.

I generally shoot for having about 40 stored hay per animal. 28 to get you through the Winter, and some extra for early Spring before you really get the grass growing.

Would be a good idea to try to get atleast two silos so you can store up the hay and not have to worry about it. Pretty useful for when you also get the deluxe barn/coop with the auto feeder and such, too.

Yeah, if I hada known, I'd have planted grass patches and let it spread, and saved up before winter.

Is it possible to get grass seed from grass? I thought I saw some seed machine you get when you grind enough, but does it work on grass?
Nope.
