Refined Quartz

I more or less got most of my skills maxed and my farm is in pretty decent shape, but I can't expand too much because I'm having a tough time farming Refined Quartz for Quality Sprinklers. I tend to go mining almost every day but I can't seem to find any Refined Quartz between Mine levels 60-80 since those are the only times I recall bumping into the mineral. I would use regular Sprinklers but that seems too inefficient to me.

So the TL;DR version is, where can I farm/find Refined Quartz?

Fish / Crab Pot, take the Broken Glasses and Broken CD put it in the Recycling Machine and you'll get 1 Refined Quartz.

Ahh, I knew the Broken CD could be used to make Refined Quartz but I never figured the Recycling Machine was the thing to do it xD. Thanks for the quick response.

Yeah, I run about 12 crab pots, and from those I probably get 2 quartz a day on average. Over time that has helped me make 200 refined quarts in my stockade without even trying. Then I pretty much pimped out the entire farm with quartz flooring. I suppose one could mass produce crab pots and rake in lots of quartz. But it will still take a while for lots and lots of refined quartz.

That's the reason for me taking the "Luremaster" fishing skill rather than the Mariner. That "trash" is a treasure trove!

I always wanted to ask this, but what happens if you took the "no trash" perk and laid a few crab pots in your farm? Is there non trash items?

use the furnace to melt Quartz, then you'll get Refined Quartz

Yes, you can get things like periwinkle, crabs, etc from crab pots on your own farm. Usually I tend to get non-trash items.. for some reason when I want mostly trash to recycle (mainly just for the refined quartz).

If you really need a lot of trash go fish for lava eels in the mines. They're the only type of fish in that pool so it's mostly trash.

If you're going to outright fish you'd just do it on your farm ponds since it's 100% trash.

Although lava eels do sell for a pretty penny if you've got enough fishing and a trap bobber to put to use on one.
