When you say you fed them, have you been putting hay in their trough or have you been trying to physically shove it into their faces?

To keep an animal happy you need to pet it daily, keep it's trough full, let it out via the external roller door so it can graze in long grass, if it does this it consumes part of the grass but it won't need hay that night. You also should install a heater for them in Winter, and if it is a Goat or Cow milk them every second day for their milk.

You can't just put hay in the silo, you have to put it on the little bench thing inside the coop. Or upgrade to a deluxe coop that has an autofeeder

You filled the trough at the north end of the coop with hay?

Putting hay in the silo is not feeding your chickens, taking hay from the silo and putting it on the food trough inside the coop is what feeds them.

ive only filled the thing beside the bench looking thing in the coop at the top
You also need to close the door to the coop/barn every night. Animals don't like it when it's left open.

every morning, I get up pat chickens, place 4 hay from the hay box onto the hay shelf/troff open the coop door.
Every evening before bed, i close the coop door and check on chiken's food/ that there in the barn. keep doing this and they slowly gain heats.
First click of the day pats them, rest is checking heart level.

You have to fill the bench itself, not the thing next to it, the thing next to it is there for you to pick hay from and put on the bench.
The bench is what holds the food.

My understanding for maximum daily.

A) Ensure there is food in the trough before nightfall/sleep -> Hay, 1 for every head.
B) Ensure the door is closed after everyone is in. If they're outside or its blocked, they'll sleep outside, incurring grumpy.
C) ensure the door is open sometime in the morning. All of the animals forage on tall grass and like to frolic in it.
D) Part 2 of C, Ensure there is tall grass somewhere for them to frolic in and/or eat. All of the animals enjoy grazing and frolicking in tall grass.
E) Ensure they get attention every day.
F) You failed
G)Ensure you get a heater before Winter, But asap. As it quite possibly makes them happier in general by a tiny bit each day.(theory, unconfirmed)
H)Ensure the Door is shut all throughout winter, Try and shut/keep the door shut on days where the weather is abnormal. The Quick and Easy way to determine what is "abnormal" is to open the door, If they come out, Its fine, If they don't, keep it shut in that kinda weather.

Whether or not one or more of these actually doesn't do anything, or does, is besides the point.
This will bring to you in general, the best daily progress with your animals, Nurturing good quality meat and encouraging healthy growth, as well as encouraging your livestock to yield their goodies unto you, and/or breed.

I) You realized (or didn't cause you're slow) that F was a joke. You also realized after H, while concluding, that I started to mix reality and game, and that normal, not weird, processes like butchering livestock, are actually very similar in their steps, as 'producer' livestock.
i.e Taking care of them, naming them, and/or showing them some affection.
Else, They're more likely to get sick and/or die, and well, ♥♥♥♥, That's no good for getting good meat.
