Too Difficult

It is far too difficult to get Iridium Ore and the Legendary Fish in this game. I feel that I am stuck and can progress no further. There simply isn't enough time in the day to get to the lower levels of the Skull Cavern because I'm wasting it all trying to find staircases and holes to drop down. And for the fish, those meters are simply way to unfair for 99% of people like myself to do it. Can anyone PLEASE offer up some assistance in this matter? I'm getting kinda frustrated and might actually consider dropping the game if it doesn't get anymore easier.

Fishing. Level 10 + 3 from food, with the addition of a Trap Bobber.

Cavern. Bombs, Luck/Speed food, stacks of stone to build staircases. Spam ladders until you find a floor with close ores, then continue down. The lower you go the more likely to find ores.

Legendary is not nessary and just a personal achievment. If you cant do it, oh well. As for skull cave. You could bring a stack of stone and build stairs on the go. Iridium can happen at any level. Or breed purple slimes.

Pretty sure i got more Iridium from killing purples slimes in the Skull cavern than i ever found in deposits there, but i also never went very deep.

Also in the instance you're farming iridium for sprinklers, you can speed up the process by buying a Tier 3 sprinkler from Krobus in the sewers every Friday.

Theres also a mid-late game way to make the iridium hunting unnecessary, but ill leave that for you to figure out to avoid spoiling it for ya.

Stay up after 2AM, fish become calmer then.

You don't even need that to get those fish, I just caught my first legendary with level 8 fishing, no buffs from food, a trap bobber, and determination not even ten minutes ago, and I only started playing the game yesterday.

Coincidentally I also snagged a chest with a piece of iridium ore and two fire quartz with the fish, so yeah, not sure why OP is complaining about the difficulty of finding either.

It's true, they can be caught even without tackle, bait or food buffs. I caught the Legend under such conditions just the other night:

Some people don't like some kinds of games, I hate bullet hell games, which made the bosses of Prairie King very difficult for me. I don't judge peoples tastes or hold it against them, which is why i'm happy to give them mods which make the minigames almost non-existent, if it helps them enjoy the game more then where is the harm.

its not to hard of a game fool... legend Fish are suppose to be hard to catch, otherwise there would be no point in placing legend fish in the game.. Iridium ore is tricky to find yes.. but think of it again.. what would be the point in making it easy to find ? everyone at the start of the game would go after it.. If you think this game is hard, then maybe you should quit playing games..
besides the rant, here is easy tips for ya..

Fish, eat the sea food dinner, and have fishing 9 to 10.. the dinner will add + 3 to it. buy or make a trap bobber or cork to place on your fishing rod..

Mining for Iridium in the skull caves... Make bombs/stairs, bring lots of food and be SURE to check the tv for your luck, cause that will help a ton in finding shafts in the skull cave..
GoodLuck, and stop being so whiney. would you rather someone come to your house and play the game for you ? or show you how to do everything step by step ? want me to hand feed your supper to you tonight ?

My advice:

Iridium Ore: You'll want to devote entire days to Skull Cavern. Kill every big slime you find in the rare event the little guys drop ore. Bombs. Luck food (Spicy Eel drops from the flying guys, which is perfect). Iridium Ore spawn chance increases every 10 levels. If you get some luck with the drops, you'll start finding a bunch of ores in the late 30's, 40's, and 50's. Farthest I've made it is 51 in a single day, and at that level there were 3-4 ore veins per floor. Normally get down to the 30's or early 40's in a day.

Fish: As others have said, Level 10 with +3 food, trap bobber. Past that it is just a matter of persistance and getting used to the darting pattern.

Geneses, was it really necessary to insult and berate OP? People have different play styles and skill levels. Nothing wrong with that.

I don't disagree, but this is the Internet 0_o I'm pretty sure anyone can be as whiney as they want and complain about difficulty in games, up to a point, if they want to.
