Any villagers worth befriending?

I'm halfway year 2, and I havent bothered befriending anyone, except Leah.

Many villagers give you cooking recipes if you befriend them, if you like cooking or are going for the achievement. Just to talk to, Abigail, Evelyn & Leah are all nice conversationalist.

All off the villagers are worth befriending. Aside from them not acting like jerks, they send you crafting recipes, food recipes, and items.

Strictly speaking, no, there is no reason to befriend any of the villagers. They give you recipes which, for the most part, aren't very useful. They also send gifts that are mostly worthless. Completionism is pretty much the only reason why you'd want to bother.

You might want to get one or two recipes depending on what kind of playthrough you're going for. For example, if you pick the Crab Pot farm layout and will be collecting Crab Pot loot all day long, you probably want the Sashimi recipe. It's easy enough to get three hearts with Linus and the benefits would be huge.
