Is the Baby ever awake? (spoiler maybe idk)

I adopted a little girl a few days ago, and when I woke up, she was asleep.
I came back at around 3pm, but she was still sleeping.
Are the babys ever awake?

But if the baby's asleep, there's no need to pass it on. In-laws, relatives, friends, and random passersby are for foisting off babies on so you don't have to deal with the consequences of their being awake (like the noises and the bodily functions).
