1. Abigail (My wife now)
2. Leah
Male:
The only one... Sebastian!
Yeah lawl me 2
Female:
1. Leah (Chose her because she looks like the most mature and dependable looking one among the females. She wouldn't look out of place as a farmer's wife.)
2. Abigail (I like her because she's so alternative. Videogames, flutes in the forest, and just emo cute. But ultimately Leah won because I just don't see Abigail settling down as a proper farmer's wife. I mean, the girl has a sword in her drawer for pete's sake lol!) She'll probably suit a player who's more into exploring the mines then farming.
Male:
None. My male characters are hetero,
and my female characters are lesbians. No interest in pursuing guys.
1. Haley. People are completely off-base with her and are making assumptions about the cause/nature of her behavior based on her appearance.[community.playstarbound.com] Haley is not a Regina-George-in-Mean Girls character.
2. Leah. Independent, creative, passionate, red-headed (what?).
3. Penny. Bookish and sweet. Demerits for liking kids, though, and who wants Pam in the family?
4. Maru. Horrible sprite and portrait, unfortunately, and her dad is insufferable (both about your relationship with Maru and about Maru in general).
5. Abigail. A whiny leech who mooches off her parents and spends the whole time complaining about them. Does nothing to help with the family business—just wanders off by herself or holes up in her room. Non-conformist for the sake of being non-conformist.
Male:
1. Harvey. Although his mustache is abominable, the rest of Harvey is A+. I also sympathize with the whole "Had a passion that I couldn't follow, now I'm living life as "Plan B".
2. Sebastian, I guess. Giant demerit for being a smoker, but he's pretty friendly once you talk to him and he tries not to let his social discomfort stand in the way of his work ethic.
3. Elliott maybe? Or Sam? I don't know. I don't really like either of them that much.
5. Alex. I get that he shows his vulnerabilities once you butter him up, but the dude is still trashing his clothing when it gets the least bit smudged and consciously avoids giving it to charity because he doesn't want "some weirdo" to get his hand-me-downs.
Married Haley in my first (and to-date only) playthrough, and do not regret it one bit. Going to pursue Leah in the next one. Sorry, Penny, but on the bright side, your mom's liver isn't going to last that much longer.
Haley is not bad, i dislike her at first because she gave a Paris Hilton vibe in the beginning.
Was surprised to see her in the woods photographing, thats not something you see a bimbo do.
That said, i modded in an anime portrait for her, and i like her much better now.
I get that she is supposed to be the "Tsundere" among the girls.
(Clarification in case the tone of this post is unclear: I'm agreeing with you, and reiterating the point.)
1. Abigail
2. Maru
3. Penny
4. Leah
5. Haley
I chose Abigail. I didn't intend to at first, but after giving her a bunch of amethysts which I had no use for, I got to know her. She's easy to read, interesting, a gamer, a free spirit, has common interests, happens to have the best looking sprite, and is just cool. She hangs out by the graveyard, adventures into the cave, hides a sword in her room, plays a flute. She might whine but that is because she is young and she is an open book, the other girls whine but don't always show it. In reality, she does what she wants to do and isn't held back by her "whining." She gets why the peacefulness of the town is important, and builds more onto it by exploring and adventuring. I feel that as she grows older she will learn and develop the most. She can adapt, learn, confronts the dark side of life which people avoid, and has nothing to hide. She also gives you free bombs as your spouse. The only downside is that she stops doing all of those interesting hobbies as a wife.
Maru deserves more credit IMO. She's super cool, intelligent, works as a nurse AND an engineer, invents some really interesting things, and spends her time looking at the stars. Can't get much cooler than that. People don't choose her because of her looks, it's that simple. She doesn't have the time to, or interest in, making herself up to get a husband. That makes her a hidden gem.
At first I was going for Penny. You can't help but like her, she's sweet, her cut scenes are the cutest and probably the most sincere, and she need someone to rescue her from her situation. However, I have known girls like her before, and there is usually more to the girl who "wants to be rescued." Her incident in the tree with Sam proved that for me. She's great but needs to work out her issues on her own, a guy can't solve them.
Leah is okay, I am just not into artistic types who aren't cerebral. She's a Martha Stewart, not a Frida Kahlo. She goes to the bar every night but never gets drunk. Her art is garbage; experimental but in the wrong ways. Her ex is a super jealous bro type, so it's like she was totally normal but recently decided to get creative. Talk about the least tortured artist ever. To be honest it kind of disgusts me given my art background, but then again she's very nice.
Haley... you all know the drill. People like her are the reason we retreat into games like these. A shallow, stupid bimbo who lives in the town by circumstance. She doesn't appreciate the peaceful farm life, nor the whole reason why you quit your job to move to the farm. I assert that she will never change, nor learn about what's important in life. Pretty much all of the other girls I feel could grow and develop as human beings. Haley is just concerned with Haley. You don't have to worry about her, one day she'll meet a rich white dude and leave the town. She would bang the CEO of Joja Mart if he had nice hair.
Men, I don't know how to date them or what is important in guys, so I can just make a list of who I'd be friends with:
1. Sebastian -- a lot in common.
2. Elliot -- he seems fake, but he's actually a cool, sincere, emotional dude. He gets being an artist more than Leah does.
3. Sam -- plays guitar, seems okay, probably has good taste.
4. Harvey -- nerdy, but maybe you can get him drunk and have him lighten up. Doctors usually didn't have time for friends or relationships in their 20s, but they're nice/interesting people.
5. Alex -- he's not bad, but he's a meathead. I don't want to play football with my friends, I want to game with them, make music, make videos, etc.
2. Abigail, she does remind me of myself, the only reason I didn't marry her is because she doesn't have a loved gift that is easy to get my hands on.
3. Penny, shy, just like me.
4. Maru, nothing good about her, apart from the fact she's not Haley
5. Haley, I dispise this woman.
1. Sebastian, I too spend all of my hours on the computer
2. Sam, he's cute c:
3. Harvey, he's not the other two
4. Alex- I hate jocks
5. He was trying to steal my waifu, I hate his hair and he hated his birthday gift.
I don't have a steam emoticon for applause, but just pretend that there is one here.
2. Elliot (though I prefer his look before the final one)
3. No one else. Though I'd put Sebastion here if he wasn't so immature.
My character pursued both Harvey and Elliot, but only took things further with Harvey, though I keep thinking about giving Elliot flowers even though my man and Harvey are married and have 2 adopted babies.
1. Leah
2. Penny
3. Maru
4. No one else. If Abigail was more mature I'd put her on the list though.
The three girls I listed could really go in any order, but I have a thing for red heads, so Maru would likely still be third. If I made a female character she'd look like Leah, but if I had to marry one I'd probably go with Maru since she's more like me.
I like Leah, but her circumstances reminds me of Elizabeth Gilbert of "Eat, Pray, Love" where both have deserted their exes for reasons which can be concluded to be well...selfish. For Gilbert, she merely got bored with her ex while Leah does it to become a cross between a martyr and a starving artist. I mean, at 6 hearts, she's hungry enough to try eating a fruit that is well....growing in "nature". She even admits to foraging to get by. Now while I appreciate her passion, it was selfish of her to desert her ex for her own career. While I think it may have been the "right" decision in her own interest, we don't know how it went down. This is just one interpretation, however I think the moving for your own career to a place you have little experience with is just beyond stupid.
