Side with Joja Mart, what happens?
I am thinking about going with the Joja Mart stuff on my second char for the achievement. Part of me really hates the idea of going against just helping out the community center. Are there any negitive sides from siding with Joja? Spoilers are fine, I just want to know if siding with them causes issues before I do it.

You can no longer do the community center. That's it. Nothing else bad happens. You also will obviously not get points for restoring the community center during your evaluation, or the mini rewards from the individual bundles.

No one hates you, no one goes out of business, you just can no longer do the community center route.

if you side with joja, The world becomes corrupted and you feel like scum :<
it is a sad sad thing.

I mean.. its not like they ruined your city life before your adventure in stardew begins or anything and won't do it again for the low low price of 5k

No issues, you won't get the rewards for each bundle, just the overall reaward of the total package, and also you miss on the 2 hearts with everybody from the CC, but no penalties besides living knowing that you sold your soul to the devil.

All the bundles the rewards from the rooms are paid with lots of gold now, is it not?

And there are any discounts at the joja mart? I mean... does it get cheaper than Pierre's store?

You can not get the mini rewards, no, (So no extra seeds, free recycling machine, ect) you can only get the major ones, like the greenhouse and minecarts. These are in fact paid for with gold.

There is a discount with Joja mart, but it only makes it the same price as Pierre's. It will not be cheaper.

I'm pretty sure the 25% discount from becoming a member only makes it tie with Pierre's store. Upside is Jojamart is open on wednesdays. Downside is that Pierre's store will be too when you make the Jojamart go out of business. I'm also not sure whether the Jojamart ever gets year 2 seeds stocked like Pierre's general store.

I suppose you can always use mixed seeds if you want year 2 crops. I grew artichokes year 1 with mixed seeds despite them being a year 2 seed. That might have been a glitch though, as I never got any red cabbage or garlic from mixed seeds in spring and summer.

Just buy the year two seeds from Pierre, no matter what route you take.

Yeah, I suppose that's true. I sorta have tunnel vision when it comes to joja membership.

There is an achivment for jojo, but if you go for it, make sure to not do any bundles before buying the membership, or you lock your self out of both achivment then.

Yes. Becoming a Joja Member means you get the items for an itty bittty bit cheaper than pierres

5000 gold could buy a lot of items, early on at least.

The Joja items start at a higher cost, to balance out the discount.

It (appears) intentionally designed to make it so you never want to join Joja. The achievement is a trap. ITS A TRAP!

Because at any amount of time for the discount to be considerably useful, It is too expensive to just chuck 5k away.
At any time it is convenient to just chuck 5k away, The price of seeds is trivial. and the Trivial difference in price is pathetic.

All the way the Community center gives you extra seeds (mostly/all wild), cakes, machines, etc

Join Joja? ITS A TRAP!

Joja mart has no music. That alone is a great sign of EVIL

It is not cheaper than Pierre's after the discount, it is the same. I also honestly think that game wise, they are pretty balanced. Morality wise ♥♥♥♥ Joja, but just in terms of game mechanics, they are balanced.

The things I also personally like about the Joja Mart route:

-No one goes out of business. You still have both stores
-Joja mart is open much later
-It is MUCH faster to get the various rewards
-After restoring the community center, villagers will then go hang out there. Even if they would normally be working. This leads to random shop closings. This does not happen with the Joja route.
-There is very little to honestly spend money on in the game, and a lot of ways to make it. Its a good money sink for experienced players.

Random closes? Oh ♥♥♥♥ that. Now I don't want to complete the CC.

Yeah... i'm pouring money right now with nowhere to spent. I guess by time i reach year 3, things will be boring.

I created an "ahole" character and just decided to go with the Joja company once, although I despise everything it represents in real life. And it's obvious the dev considers the Community Center the "real choice". The Joja mart improvements are lifeless, boring, empty. It's literally just a piece of paper with a few sentences and numbers. And it's the much easier and faster way to win, too. I really didn't like it, I think you don't miss anything if you don't try it.
