In lewis' room near the coffee cup.
Could be -M for Mona
That M is not for Mona. That relationship is ongoing. I'm also 99% sure that Lewis says that he never married in one of his random dialogues, but rather dedicated his life to mayoring.
Grandpas wife [your grandma]?
Then he bums you out by asking if you think if it was worth it.
- Caroline tells you that when she was younger, she liked taking walks to the wizards tower, but you are not to tell Pierre that, else he would get jealous.
- Pierre wonders if Abigail is actually his biological daughter.
- Caroline claims that Abigail dyes her hair, but Abigail says that she cannot remember when she last dyed her hair, which is purple, the same colour as the wizard's hair.
- Abigail has a lot of interest in the occult, and can even get an ouija board to work.
Which overall gives a better indication of Abigail being the wizard's daughter rather than Emily.
As for Mona, she could also be one of your relatives (your grandfather owned the farm previously).
Isn't that a pet ?
I think that's the case, but on the contrary, I think Shane is the biological nephew, he, as a friend of Jas parents, took care of her as the godfather, and moved to Marnie's, provably to be in a better place for Jas to grow. It would be easier for Marnie to welcome an unrelated child that an unrelated adult to her house.
(btw i never thought the most intense episode of x-files would come from a grave in stardew valley
Or another option would be to summon Grandpa from his shrine, ask him to go find Mona's spirit, and get the answer that way.
Or simply contact Welwick -- she could probably use the cash...
Back on-topic: I like the idea of it being the player's grandmother -- it would explain why Grandpa would leave the farm (since he asks you to say hi to Lewis, which implies he hasn't been to the valley in a while); living in the empty house by himself could be a constant reminder of his loss.
The house in the opening cutscene might be the initial farmhouse; but it doesn't line up perfectly... and the phrasing in the letter makes me think that Grandpa's time in the Valley was only one part of his life (even if it may have been the most significant part).
Abigail is Caroline and Pierre's Kid. Not the wizard's.
Mona should be Abigail's Grandmother.
