Is there a cheating mechanic when you are married? Also friendship points listed.

I have been wondering for a while now if there is a cheating mechanic to the game when you are married, for instance giving a bouquet to another "dateable" person such as Leah when you are already married. I know for a fact that your spouse can and will get jealous if you give gifts to other "dateable" people, also I don't know if this is true but I think if you keep making your spouse jealous you can loose friendship points; this has happened to me twice when gift giving, as I have lost up to 500 points which equals 2 hearts.

I have looked around online and cant find a real answer to this question though as it all seems to have an opaque feel to it. I have just started testing this theory by getting Leah to 10 hearts while I am married to Abigail (With one kid) and have noticed she is getting more jealous (but this is probably down to the fact I am giving more gifts to a "dateable" person).

I'm looking to see if anyone else already knows the answer to this though as I want to give boutiques to all "dateable" people in the game, to be able to see all the cut scenes and have every single heart for all the characters in the game.

Also if anyone wants to know the friendship point system I will list the points here:
Speaking to a character for 1 day = +20 points
Ignoring a character for 1 day = -2 points
Giving a "Loved" gift to a character = +80 points (per gift)
Giving a "Liked" gift to a character = +45 points (per gift)
Giving a "Loved" gift on a character's birthday = +640 points (does not count towards weekly gifts)
Giving a "Liked" gift on a character's birthday = +360 points (does not count towards weekly gifts)
Completing quests for a character = +150 points
Gifting other "dateable's" = -30 points (There is a chance for this to happen)
1 Heart = 250 points
8 Hearts = 2000 points
10 hearts = 2500 points

As off build 1.06 you CAN give all "dateable's" the bouquet and get them to 10 hearts for all cut scenes, as there is NO cheating mechanic that I have found.

Doing this will make your spouse jealous though and you will have a chance to lose 30 friendship points for each gift you give the "dateables". This can easily be countered by giving you spouse gifts to raise their friendship points back up to 13/12 hearts.

You can NOT marry another person though as the pirate will not sell you another Mermaid's Pendant.

You have a chance to lose 30 FP with your spouse if you gift a Single villager, regardless of if it is Disliked, Neutral or Loved.

Ah so that would explain the loss in FP when gift giving to other character. Is that for all characters or just "dateable's"?

Just the singles it seems. Abigail seems to be the only one with dialogue about it.

The clincher though is you can give your spouse a gift every day, so it's not hard to make up the loss.

Basically you should just make out with everyone and treat it like a Bisexual MTV Drama before you tie the knot with one of em.

Wow, who actually started this whole "friendship point counting"? It's a game after all, why make a science out of it? If you want to see all cutscenes, just give bouquets to the other characters. And if you lose a heart with your spouse, just gift her 2 diamonds or whatever she loves and everything will be fine again.

(Btw, I'm really not a fan of this 8-heart-lock, since the game literally encourages you to date multiple people at the same time. But well..)

I thought it would be just the "dateable's" as Abigail only gives you the dialogue once you gift a "dateable" but wanted to make sure, and yeah when ever I get that dialogue I give tonnes of cake to Abigail to make up for it.

Yeah once I found out more about the game mechanics it was to late and I was already married. I'm on my 3rd year in late spring at the moment and got married in my 1st year mid fall, if I found out more about the game back then I would 10 hearted all the "dateable's" first before marring.
