Botanist or Tracker?

Forager level 10, not sure what to take. Does Tracker apply to things like the panning nodes? Only one I've found thus far gave me iridium so I'm hoping to find more of those.

Tracker helps you find artifacts easier since I believe you will be able to spot the "worm" spawns in the ground.
If you don't care about artifacts (achievement) then forager is probably better.

I can see the worms easily enough anyway. What does it do, highlight them or something?

You get arrows on the screen pointing towards foragable objects in the area.
It saves abit of time if you hunt for worms every day which I do.

Botanist is statistically superior. All tracker does is make little yellow arrows point to where forageables and digging worms are.. which you could easily just spot yourself if you ride your horse around. Hard to say no to top quality everything including things like quartz, coral etc.

Oh I don't actively hunt for them very often. I keep an eye out as I'm going around to various places but I rarely have time to actually go worm hunting.

This is the best thing in my opinion. Hated having three different varities of blackberry, etc. Now, everything is gold and only takes up one spot in the inventory.

This is the big advantage not realized at first. It is very much worth it for this alone. As matter of fact the price difference in a foraged item is pretty much irrelevant by the time you you get to forage level 10. By that time you should be having and producing more money than you can spend.

Having all foraged items fit into one slot instead of three REALLY helps in the mines when (if you are like me) your inventory gets filled long before you are ready to leave.

I realized that right after I took it and started getting all gold star items. It's very helpful. For balance, the worms should be harder to spot and rarer but almost always give something worthwhile so that Tracker is actually useful and Botanist should only increase the chance of getting silver or gold items, not make them all gold automatically. Do that and it'd be a better matchup.

tracker can show the worms our of your screen.

I love botanist, just for the inventory space saved.

No more foraging items taking up 3 different space in backpack per item due to different star levels.

All that tracker does is add a little yellow pointer to show you where the closest shrub or worm is. It does nothing you can't do on your own without looking. Go with botanist.

Just play on higher resolution preferable 4k res, it beat tracker by far in tracking foraging spots.
So botanist is much better.
