Rare Disc Madness

It has been a whole year, plundered skull mine, and fished many species to extinction... Still no darned rare disc, how can this be so rare? I got every other artifact at least 2-3 times now. Please share your tips for this elusive item.

I have been fishing at river next to Leah's & also near Haley's places. Never tried ocean but probably won't get the damn thing.

Hey, I've found a very easy way to get rare artifacts (for example the rare disc, the golden mask or the ancient sword):

1. Farm omni geodes (buy them tuesdays from Krobus or wednesdays from Sandy or farm them at the skull cavern -> 1 day: 20 omni geodes)
2. Buy artifact troves from the merchant at the oasis (for example 4 artifact troves from the 20 geodes you just farmed at that day)
3. Let them be opened from Clint -> if they not contain what you like, reload the day, then prepare the same amount of normal geodes for step 4 (if you haven't geodes in stock, simply farm some at the mines)
4. Go to clint with your artifact troves and your normal geodes -> let him open 4 normal geodes and afterwards your 4 artifact troves -> the artifact troves contain now different items (otherwise if you just reloaded the day and let them be opened again, they would have contained the exact same items)
5. If the artifact troves didn't contain what you searched for -> reload the day und let clint now open 8 normal geodes and afterwars your 4 artifact troves
6. Repeat this process if needed on and on -> you can farm more normal geodes or you can buy more artifact troves to have a greater chance of finding what you need

After 3 ingame weeks of grinding for the rare disc at the mines (and of course still no success) I got this artifact WITHIN DAYS using this method (fourth time reloading with only 5 artifact troves and 20 normal geodes).

That's... way too complicated. Use Stardew Predictor[mouseypounds.github.io] to know when the Rare Disk will drop from the Artifact Trove instead.
You'll know how much geodes you need to buy/drop without reloading the game countless times.

I think I got one from tilling the soil in the mines, but I'm not 100% sure... shadow guys are the most likely source, like others said.
