Urrrgh making me use effort.

Any water, bait would increase your fish being hooked rate so I suppose yes. Treasure Hunter tackle so you get treasure chests and hope for it to be an Ancient Seed.

Using a seed maker is also a pretty good way to go about it. There's a small percentage that you'll get ancient seeds when placing crops into the seed maker, instead of seeds for whatever crop you put in there.

What I did is that I waited for the day I have the highest luck (Stardrop) which give me more chance of monsters dropping rare items then I ate "Lucky Lunch" which have +3 Luck before hunt down every single insect monster I saw in the mine and voila! Ancient Seed Artifact! I got it on the first day I tried this tactic.

Guess i was lucky - i kept digging up the worms and got the ancient seeds within the first two years. Grew em and right away put the seed in the seed maker. On and off i still get the seeds from foraging - just use the recipe and get a new packet of seed.

Once I started growing starfruit in the green house, I was getting 1 or 2 ancient seeds from using starfruit in the seedmakers (I have 10) every few days as well as making 45-55k from selling starfruit wine every day. Once I had one ancient fruit grown, it gave me 2 more seeds in the seed maker. Then, those 2 fruits gave me 6 seeds. Rinse, repeat. I now have half my green house ancient fruit and half starfruit.

Starfruit seeds sell in the desert very frequently with no limit on how many you can purchase. Or, you could buy one from the travelling ♥♥♥♥♥ and turn it into seeds as well. But the desert will be the fastest way to grow a pile of starfruit to get making wine and random ancient seeds.

Two years? I got mine before hitting the bottom of the mines at the end of summer year 1

I don't understand how everyone had problems with this? Maybe I'm just lucky. I'm in year 1 fall and I have five. I didn't grow any of them or anything, I have had them ALL drop in the mines between levels 20ish-35ish (that's as deep as I am, I'm a slow butt). The first two dropped on one day, one right after another after fighting those weird flying things that like zoom in on you.

If I could I'd send them to people who still need them. I only need a couple. Right now they are just sitting in my storage waiting for either spring (so I can grow them all year until winter) or my greenhouse to be fixed.
