Running out of energy too fast
I'm still in spring of the first year but I feel like I run out of energy way too fast. Is there a way to increase my energy because food barely raises it. Just watering my 40 crops makes me go in the red zone so i cant do anything all day after

use sprinklers and down in the mines (cant remember what level) you get an energy boost upgrade from a chest

In the begining your energy leve gets used up fast, as your famer gains level he /she becomes more effeicant and will use less energy doing the same task. Just keep playing and it will become easier. Also if you see star fruit at events in town get them they will alos increase your energy. Buying and eating food and crops will also give you energy.

As your skills go up, it will take less energy to work. Give it time. I think we all felt this way in the beginning.

StarDROPS, not starfruit.

Early days, I spend all my cash on crops, make field rations out of seeds from cutting down trees, and push hard through the mines until you get the stardrop there.

First 1-2 seasons (in first year) are just rough, energy wise. As mentioned, it'll get better as skill levels increase.

Use foraged foods when you can/when you have them. Use spare time to forage for the wild food bits on the ground (doesn't cost Energy), talking to the townsfolks (just talking to them gives a bit of heart-xp, even if you don't give a gift) and making money.

Before too long efficiency at using tools gets better + you have money to start buying some food now and then to help out as well. If desired, focus on building up to the Quality sprinklers (don't bother with the first tier of Sprinkler) or upgrading your watercan to help out with energy/watering. If you eventually go all-sprinklers, you never have to water manually. Heh.

In the spring, the TV will tell you that spring onions grow in the south-east forest area. Spring onions don't sell for much, so they're the perfect food item to consume to get more energy.

You will run out of energy a lot early in the game, it is expected that you either spend the remainder of the day doing zero-energy activities like foraging and speaking to villagers, or you will need to consume food to restore energy. You can either forage for food like leeks and horseradish for some energy, or you can eat some of the crops you grow. Of course, eating it means you can't sell it, so you have to weigh the costs and benefits of using your cash crops for energy.

When you level up your skills, you become "more proficient", meaning each action consumes less energy. Continue leveling up your skills, and in time activities like watering your crops, mining rocks, and fishing will drain less energy.

And lastly, there is an area you can go to that will restore your energy, depending on how far along you are. Mid-way through Spring, you will get a notice that there was an earthquake during the night. This opens up the area north of the carpenter's house and homeless man's tent. There is a spa in that area, you can enter the pool and you will gain energy when you remain still in the water.

The gronola bar was a big deal. You get the mats from cutting down trees, and it takes 3-4 of them for a full bar but it's free.
You can also upgrade your tools. Takes me three hits to demolish a tree, stump and all.

Upgraded tools also gve you a bigger area. After upgrading the watering can, hold the button when watering, and you'll water a bigger area for the same energy cost.

Yeah get to the mines level 90 for that perm energy boost it makes a big difference. Also of course getting better tools specifically gold where you can start laying down the 3x3 grids.

Golden tools and lvl 90 mines are ways off though.

In the start, you just have to manage resources a bit. You learn to make food out of tree seeds quickly, and there is wild forageables you can eat to keep your energy up. Still, it's best to start with a small farm that won't tire you out too much just from watering the crops. Just keep doing lil' things 'till you level up your skills and eventually upgrade to copper tools, at that point energy becomes much more manageable.

If you do earn some good cash, get a kitchen, chicken coop and at least 2 chickens. Baked eggs give 50 energy and all it costs you is 1 egg, so that is amazing value.

Eat low-value fish, foragables, raw eggs if you don't have a kitchen yet, and if you find yourself with a little extra gold, buy a salad from Gus. iirc, one salad is 400 gold and gives you 225 energy, which is essentially an entire day's worth.
Salmonberries are a good early game answer. They're dirt cheap so no use selling and you can collect as many as 20 a day when they're in season.
