Should I upgrade my Hoe/Watering Can? Or will I waste Resources?
I brought my equipment to the Blacksmith and saw that I can upgrade my Hoe and my Watering Can, but I don't know what the upgrade especially for the Hoe is good for. I know that if I upgrade my watering Can it will carry more water, right? But are the upgrades worth the money and Resources that they cost?

I wouldn't go for the hoe, i find the upgrades dont do much for me, but the watering can does hold a lot more water, so I'd suggest upgrading it at least once to copper.
always watering cans before hoes. you use watering cans almost everyday, but hoes only once a season. Both upgraded version will allow you to charging move that will increase the area watered/hoed.
Upgrading either your hoe or watering can allow it to cover more distance with one action. Eventually, when you upgrade them to the highest tier (irridium) they can cover 6x3 in one motion. Honestly though, after your first two month, you should have enough to create a colony of, at least, the basic sprinklers, making your watering can useless. Later on in the game, the only thing your watering can is useful only for the slime hutch. The hoe, on the other hand, remains useful espcially during the first days of spring, when you have to retill your entire crop fields.

Get the watering can upgraded to at the very least steel. and upgrade the hoe to copper or steel in the fall or winter. You'll have to retill ALL your land after winter, so you'll need the hoe upgrade. Mostly just upgrade the watering can asn you expand your farm and need more and more water (as well as more and more space watered at a time) for your farm.

From what I've seenk, the sprinklers are ♥♥♥♥, and completly useless. At least for the way my farm is set up, the usefulness of sprinklers really depends on how you set up your farm.
Of course basic sprinklers are terrible, but building around 150 during your first fall/winter really clears up your energy for fishing, mining, or npc relationship building until you can build quality sprinklers. By the second year, you should have enough to replace everything with quality sprinklers and maybe a few irridium ones.

Anyways, if you don't agree, then that's fine. We each have our own playstyle, so it's ok to disagree :)

I think you're thinking about the first tier of sprinklers, they are really bad and useless, now iridium sprinklers can water 24 tiles of crops for you each, they are beyond awesome, lots of people asked for a nerf to them.
idk if someone else mentioned since a lot of these replies are big walls of text I don't wanna read but

If you hold down your mouse button with an ugpraded hoe/ watering can, you can water multiple tiles in a row (and no I don't mean the circle around you, I mean ltierally like 5 tiles forward to where you are facing with a steel hoe)

You can sneak some watering can upgrades by checking the TV if it's going to rain tomorrow, then you can water your crops on the current day (before it rains) and upgrade your watering can at Clint. After the rainy day passes by you can go pick up your newly upgraded watering can and not miss out a day of not watering your crops. Also, you can upgrade it on the 27th of whichever season and get it back in time for the first day of the season.
Personally, I'd upgrade the watering can along with the other tools. Sprinklers only water TILLED land around them, which means that if you've just set up that area for crops then you're going to miss a day of growth because they won't be watered that first day. The sprinklers are great for after that initial planting run.
The watering can is most important in the first year. Get it to steel or gold.
By the time Spring of year 2 comes around you'll likely have dozens of sprinklers already so at that point the hoe becomes more important.
