Missing Iridium Statue
I had my statue outside, because I didn't want it in my house anymore and I am fairly certain it was destroyed by weeds. Hopefully this hasn't happened to anyone else.

I have heard about things being destroyed by weeds a couple of times. What I don't understand is this. Why are people keeping weeds alive on their property, if they have such a bad rep. Also, if a lightning bolt can destroy trees, it can most certainly destroy a statue. With that being said. I have two saved games. One without lightning rods and one with lightning rods. What I've noticed is, I have seen trees get destroyed on the map that has no lightning rods and none on the map with lightling rods. It could be coinsidence. Although the map that has the lightling rods is on its fith year. The only thing that gets messed up by lightning on that map is the floor tiles I put down, which is anoying.

I accidentally dropped a bomb on my farm near my Iridium Statue and blew it up. I didn't notice anything important missing (I had done a lot that day and found some museum pieces) so I went ahead and saved the game. Woke up the next morning to collect my iridium and I realized what I had done. Luckily I have plenty of ore and bars saved up from it. And being the optimistic person I am, this only makes it a little more challenging and gives me a reason to keep getting deeper in the Skull Cavern :)

Well, I have about 20 lightning rods placed around my farm so it wasn't lightning. Also, weeds sprout up at the beginning of new seasons, so it is less that I'm letting weeds on my farm get out of control and more that the weeds may have spawned on where my statue was placed and overrided that spot.

I have my statue on the right side of my house where weeds can not grow. And I have never had a weed break a cobblestone tile. You know, I am glad I regularly zip up my save folder.

some Weed respawn at the end of a season, and a loot respawn after Winter. I lost a Iridium Sprinker once.

Pro-tip: Place path tiles under items outside the house. Things like Cobblestone path. Weeds will not spawn there, and they never decay.

Definetly wish I would have known this prior to my statue breaking a few seasons ago, I place everything under cobblestone path now.

Clear as your farm can be, you can still get a weed overgrowth event overnight. I got one once. You can also get a tree overgrowth event. I'm still cutting trees from ones that grew three years ago. I can't get through them fast enough.

I too have placed all my items on tiles outside, but if there's anything you can't replace, I might tend to put that inside.
