How to get the mushroom trees?

I've seen a bunch of people getting those huge mushrooms growing on their farms and figured It'd just happen on my farm sooner or later... But now I'm on my third save file, with a total of six years between all of them and I've yet to see a big mushroom grow.

Any tips for increasing the likelihood of it happening?

Maybe create your own thread instead of necroing an almost 5 year old thread that is so outdated that even your question invalidates the original thread completely.

And yes, you can buy multiples.

Haven't you read the thread you're posting in? Normal trees turn into big mushrooms randomly. there are no seeds for it.
Also, no seeds to plant mushrooms, either.

You actually can, you can buy them on the secret room on ginger island.

Erm .... I stand corrected. I just unlocked that and don't know what you can get there. Probably need some quests fulfilled to earn currency?
And yeah, forgot: You can plant wild seeds which have a chance for mushrooms.
