Best way to get bombs
My new favorite thing to do is to go to Skull Cavern with bombs. My question is what is the easiest/cheapest way to get a lot of bombs. I made a ton with a lot of iron ore I had, but now that I don't have much, I have to make a lot of trips to the mines to get more. Is it worth it to buy bombs from the dwarf or do I just need to suck it up and keep going back for more iron from the mine?

Killing crabs in the mines are a great bomb generator, too. They seem to drop fairly frequently. Cherry bombs with the ones in the higher levels, full-sized ones from the lava crabs.

Of course, if you're feeling especially brave/good with your reflexes, you can sometimes get them off the flying eel/mini dragon things that like to mob you in the Skull Cavern, too.
Dwarf sells them for 600 gold for regular and 1k for mega reds.
A lot of people go for the gem perk, but miner has so many uses for that extra +1 ore. Lotsa bombs for instance.

Having miner while farming 500 dusty's for thier ring adds up to a lot of bombs. It also helps you get enough ore to replace some easier.

If you have money you can also buy lots of iron ore and coal from Clint
Already took the gem perk. :) Iron ore generally isn't a problem to get. I start at the ice level of the mines and find tons of it. I just didn't know if I should do that or just buy bombs. $600 seems like a lot even when I have 1.5 million.

Seems like buying bombs at $600 is cheaper than buying ore and coal to make them myself though.

The dwarf in the mines to the right (gotta blow out the rock blocking him) will sell you unlimited bombs.

Also if you friend Ken, he sometimes finds random hidden bombs in his basement and sends them to you in the mail! :D

Better question, who is hiding bombs in his basement?
If your getting into skull mines, you should be getting a lot of mats for mega bombs.

Otherweise, go into the mines , round zone 50. Mine Iron, kill the sprites for coal. Works best if you take the level 5 mining perk that gives +1 ore per mining node.
If you have a crystalarium, you can replicate quartz and then go to the desert trader to trade 5 quarts for a bomb. Quartz is replicated every 7 in-game hrs so if my math is right, you can get 3 quartz in a day. If you trade with the desert trader once a week, you can get 3 bombs. If you have 2 crystalariums dedicated for quartz, then you have 6 bombs a week. I know it doesn't sound a lot but you're technically passively generating bombs since you're not mining ores, not paying, and you're bound to meet the desert trader if you're going to skull cavern. I only suggest this if you have at least 2 crystalariums bcos the first gem you should put in a crystalarium is a diamond.

And so did I. Gotta <3 search engines.

I'm still in doubt whether to just buy them (On a good day I'm making 100k+ and then it's no biggie) or go for the quartz copy -> bombs. The thing is; I really like the jade copy -> staircases (and then there's also the ruby copy -> spicy eel which gives you a speed bonus) and I don't want to put my whole farm full of Crystalariums. And then iron ore and bars are used in so many things that I'm hesitant to consider this as a reliable source.
