Ancient Seeds

I'm on the start of my third year and I'm having no luck at all finding an ancient seed. I've been checking for worms daily with the foraging tracker for the past half year, no luck. No luck in fishing either. Wiki suggests that Ancient Seeds can be found in Omni Geodes - I cracked up 400 and got not a single one.
Are there more sources to Ancient Seeds? I know the wiki is not reliable in places, I'd like to know if I'm missing something or I'm being f'ed by my RNG.

I found two of my three ancient seeds in the mine, it was suggested in another thread that they may drop when you cut through weeds in the mines, which would make sense as I found them in the overgrown sections filled with bugs and weeds, but I can't confirm that because I never saw the notifications when I found them, so they could've also been dropped by the monsters or by a smashed barrel. The third one I found while fishing.

im on my 1st year winter and from fishign with an irdidum rod normal bait and a dressing tackle i got 2 out of 5 seeds i have with 2 more from mining any rock on any floor and 1 from an omi geode

honest just go fishing or mining or breaking geods on a extremely lucky day

Dont frustrate yourself trying to find a single item. Let it come to you.

If you'd like you can try using seed makers. It's a good way to save some cash on seeds and it has a small chance of producing ancient seeds instead of whatever was put in.

Thanks for the replies. I already got myself ancient seeds via the Seed Maker, but it drops the seeds you can sow, not the actual artifact, sadly. I guess I'll just try and get it whilst fishing for my other missing artifacts.

Glad to hear it. Don't stress yourself out over one or two objects. Just keep enjoying the game and you'll find them all eventually.

Same here, got one from the cart but can not find an artifact one, 4 years, feels frustrating. I fish and mine a lot but still no success.

I got mine eventually from fishing all day for a week straight. Make sure you've reached fishing level 10 and have chosen the Pirate profession. Buy loads of bait and treasure hunter bobbers. Then fish like mad. I had a treasure chest probability of about 40%, including trash and algae, which was pretty decent. I had all missing fishing artifacts in a week (That is, except for Ancient Sword, which got me crying...)

its completely RNG based. I got my first one in the forest from worms and the second seed artifact from fishing about a whole game year later. the RNG aspect sucks because you need two of those seeds in order to Craft one of Everything. getting one is hard enough, getting two is insane.

My first one was obtained via digging, in the quarry area. I'd just learned about the Dinosaur egg (and where to find it), went looking, and found both it and the seed within 5 minutes of one another.

As to the area: Mountain area. (Quarry, outside the mines, etc.)

I believe it was late Winter (tons of worms everywhere) when I found it.

What I did is that I waited for the day I have the highest luck (Stardrop) which give me more chance of monsters dropping rare items then I ate "Lucky Lunch" which have +3 Luck before hunt down every single insect monster I saw in the mine and voila! Ancient Seed Artifact! I got it on the first day I tried this tactic.
